A new hero.

Dear reader,

Second post of the day - I had to share my new hero (yes, I do have a lot of heroes)! Her name is Lizzie Valasquez. Have you heard her story? Lizzie was born with a medical condition so rare that just two other people in the world are thought to have it. She had no adipose tissue and cannot create muscle, store energy, or gain weight. Wow! Plus she has zero percent body fat and weighs only 60 pounds.

Lizzie doesn't let that stop her. She was bullied on YouTube after she posted a video, people stare at her in public, and she gets bullied by strangers. She doesn't let that stop her! When people have said rude comments in the past, instead of getting down she set four goals: To become a motivational speaker, to publish a book, to graduate college, and to build a family and a career for herself.

And she is doing it!

Lizzie is 23 years old and has been a motivational speaker for seven years and has given more than 200 workshops on embracing uniqueness, dealing with bullies, and overcoming obstacles. She's is a senior at Texas State University in San Marcos and is majoring in Communications. She even has published two books titled 'Lizzie Beautiful' and recently came out with 'Be Beautiful, Be You.'

She is amazing!

People like Lizzie inspire me; she has so many reasons to be down about life, but yet she is strong and accomplishes so much. I love her strength and the example she sets for all of us.

Thank you Lizzie! She really is just a marvelous person and is doing wonderful things with her life.

And that is true beauty.

Love,
Megan
