A refuge from the world when it grows dark and our "tomorrows" aren't promised. A safe place to rest. Relax. Be nourished. Rejuvenate.
Home.
A place to simply "Be".
A "Home" is defined as a place of permanency providing stability, shelter and comfort. But for the little ones fighting the biggest battles of their lives from hospital rooms and sterile clinics - the feeling of "Home" to them simply becomes BASE Camp.
In the words of Talia Castellano, a 13 year old fighting two forms of cancer, "As I struggled through my journey, BASE Camp has always been right beside me. Now that my journey is almost over, I want to leave a permanent legacy for them to help other families who face the same dark road that I traveled. Please support me and bring hope to these kid's by helping us buy BASE Camp a HOME"!
For over 30 years BASE Camp Children's Cancer Foundation has been humbly providing financial support, food, transportation, fun signature programs and unconditional love and encouragement to over 12,000 families in Central Florida.
BASE Camp compassionately serves 200 families each and every day and sadly, those numbers continue to grow with Childhood Cancer on the rise. Although this non-profit operates on day-to-day donations, miraculously, they have never said "No" to a family in need.
For BASE Camp to continue to provide year-round programs and on-going support, they need a permanent foundation of Hope - their own HOME.
An incredible building, central to Children's Hospitals they serve, is for sale. It's perfectly sized with space for a permanent Food Pantry so famlies in treatment never go hungry and an office for volunteers and family counseling sessions.....a huge kitchen for signature events and a beautiful couryard for outdoor activities and more!
In the words of the charity's Founder, Terri Jones, "This home would mean more miracles and smiles for our kids who have already suffered so much".
But most importantly, this permanent place of Hope has the ideal room for families -and we'll outfit it with comfy couches,, books, videos and big TV's and then we'll overload it with love. Yep. This new building has "HOME".
For Talia and every Child facing cancer; until there is a Cure, BASE Camp will be by their side. They will be serving up meals and constant encouragement. They'll be keeping them safe and showing them unconditional love. They will bring them hope. They will surround them with "HOME".
All donations are tax deductible and contributions can be made internationally. There are many giving levels, but know that even $1 helps to build a lasting Legacy.
