Talia Joy

I received this e-mail from Aashna. Read below:

Hope you're doing well. It is with a heavy heart and deep sorrow that I write today to inform you of Talia Joy Castellano's untimely passing away this morning on Tuesday July 16 2013. Talia recently developed 4 new tumors in her brain that worsened her condition, to the point where nothing more could be done. Although we are devastated that Talia, the little bundle of positivity has left us, we are relieved that her long battle with such a painful ailment has finally ended, giving her the much deserved respite. In the little time that Talia had, she lived a fuller life than most ! It was a life full of passion, energy and an undying zest for living. 

She dared to dream and worked hard at fulfilling whichever ones she could. Her "Make Up Is My Wig" Youtube Video log , with its 600,000 subscribers is a testament to her dedication for doing what she loved.  Talia had the incredible urge to help children,, especially those like her, who had been dealt their unfair share of suffering. When asked what was one of the happiest moments of her status as almost a web-celebrity , she replied that it was one comment left by a girl who had decided to not end her life after being inspired by Talia's struggle and spirit. Talia taught us the value of our days on Earth. She was a true angel who fought till the very end to make everyone around her happy. 

We started working with Talia in early April when designer Urbana Chappa decided to fulfill Talia's wish of becoming a fashion designer. In spite of being in the hospital, Talia worked hard at creating "That Bald Chick" clothing line with Urbana. Her collection shares her personality, her sass and her colorful attitude towards life. Even through her last project, "That Bald Chick," all Talia wanted to do was help smaller girls like herself feel fashionable and give teens a way of expressing themselves through fashion. Her life was truly lived for others and that's how she found her fulfillment. 

I would also like to thank you from the bottom of my heart, and on behalf of Talia's loved ones for being a part of her journey. Thank you for the support you've showed her and the encouragement you've provided by helping her spread her message. Seeing herself being loved and her efforts being appreciated is what kept Talia going in her last days. One of Talia's wishes though, that remained unfulfilled due to her limited time, was to get her clothing line into a national retail store so her legacy could live on. We are still working tirelessly to have this done for her. I would kindly request your help in anyway possible, in case you know someone that could assist us in helping Talia's legacy reach fruition. We know she is watching from above and don't want her hard work to be forgotten.

This is an ode to Talia. A tribute to her spirit-abundant with love, aglow with hope. We will miss her dearly and cherish every moment we got to spend with her. She taught us the meaning of "a life well lived" and for that , we are eternally grateful to Talia Joy Castellano.
