Donations

Dear readers,
I was able to make a $120 donation today that were raised from 'The Walk for Suicide Prevention!' THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for the support, for the hope, for the strength y'all provide for me! I am so beyond blessed for readers to be a part of this, for helping me learn how to grieve, for being there for me, and for listening to me!

Below here is the letter I received after submitting the donation!
Love,
Megan

Megan,
Thank you for your generous gift of $$120.00 on 08/05/2014, to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Your donation will help us continue our mission of preventing loss of life from suicide.
You are helping AFSP remain the largest private funder of suicide research in the United States, with a current investment in scientific research of over $6 million dollars in studies going on right now. You are also enabling the Foundation to invest in many new educational initiatives, such as a new program aimed at helping high school students recognize depression in themselves and their classmates and to encourage help seeking behavior. We also recently completed work on a film and curriculum for training teachers and other school personnel about suicide prevention.
Because of your support, AFSP is increasingly recognized as the leading organization for those who have lost a loved one to suicide, offering an array of programs that assist surviving family members and friends. With the opening of AFSP’s first public policy office in Washington, DC and plans to dramatically increase the number of grassroots advocates across the country, we are poised to advance suicide prevention through policies and legislation at the federal and state levels. Add an expanding network of chapters, now up to 56 nationwide, and over 260 Out of the Darkness Community Walks and we are emerging as a significant force for the prevention of suicide.

Thank you for supporting suicide prevention.
Sincerely,
Mike Lamma
